Working Ants
This Working Ant original was completed in 2016 and was inspired by a page out of a children’s coloring book. The paper ants in this original are created using recycled black paper, which hole punched and painted eyes and legs. They are working underground in their tunnels which are also made with layers of painted circles and torn brown paper.
Finding the many foods hidden in the tunnels is what makes this print so unique and fun. Hidden in the tunnels are foods, fruits, veggies and sweets that have all been hand cut from magazines and recycled children’s books. Zoom in to find the cupcake, French Toast Swirl, hot dog, hamburgers, and many more!
Completed originals are scanned by Terry at Artist's Resource Group in NE Minneapolis, where his eye for color matching and shadows creates an almost identical reproduction to the original. 14x14 Reproductions of this original are printed flat on archival paper with a 1 inch white border on all sides.
